A fost brevetat in S.U.A. surubul in forma de cruce
La 7 iulie 1936 a fost brevetat in S.U.A. surubul in forma de cruce. Inventatorului Henry F. Phillips, i-au fost acordate de fapt doua brevete, unul pentru surub si altul pentru surubelnita.
