Basarab I este recunoscut stapanitor efectiv al Banatului de Severin
La 26 iulie 1324 - Basarab I, voievodul Tarii Romanesti (1310-1352), este numit intr-un act emis de Cancelaria maghiara, „Bazarab, woyvodam nostrum Transalpinum” („voievodul nostru transalpin”). Basarab a acceptat suzeranitatea regelui Ungariei, fiind recunoscut stapanitor efectiv al Banatului de Severin.
